Research & Methodology

What works, what doesn't, and where the data runs thin.

How It Works

From raw data to a single reading, in three steps.

01

Collect

Daily data from bitcoin's blockchain, global markets, and macroeconomic sources. Price, on-chain metrics, dollar index, monetary policy, and volatility.

02

Grade

Each indicator scores current conditions on a 0-100 scale, calibrated against fifteen years of bitcoin's own history.

03

Composite

The thirteen grades combine into one weighted score. Weights come from SHAP analysis of an ML model: not because the model predicts price, but because it reveals which indicators carry the most information.

What the Composite Looked Like in Hindsight

Three DCA strategies, same base amount, eight years of price history. Signal DCA finished ahead in every backtest window on absolute portfolio value. None of them predicts price.

What We Cover

Seven dimensions, thirteen indicators, one composite.

Valuation

Is Bitcoin cheap or expensive relative to its 15-year history?

Macro

Is the liquidity and currency environment supportive?

Trend / Cycle

Where in the cycle are we, and what direction is the trend?

On-Chain

Is there genuine network usage and demand for block space?

Volatility

Is the market calm or stressed?

Mean Reversion

How stretched is price from its medium-term average?

Momentum

Short-term buying or selling pressure.
